The Georgia Cemetery Association began in 1955 and was formally established as a non-profit corporation in 1957 and continues to serve both perpetual care cemeteries and consumers across the state of Georgia.
Through our educational programs, annual convention and seminars, the GCA brings to its membership, information that allows cemeteries statewide, to operate and serve consumers in their communities with the most current of services and products and with the highest of ethic standards.

Carolyn May, age 75, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2019, in San Antonio, Tx, after battling Parkinson's Disease and other health issues the last several years. Carolyn had been in the cemetery profession since 1987, starting in Austin, Tx. She was one of the best Preneed Counselors and Sales Managers we've ever had in our profession, winning several awards for both her personal sales and location sales. She worked for Golden Era Services, The Loftis Corporation, Equity Corporation International, Service Corporation International and Stewart Enterprises, in Texas, South Carolina and North Carolina and most recently was the Manager at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Duluth, Ga. Unfortunately her health issues forced her to retire early several years ago. Carolyn also was very involved with prison ministry work for many years, even opening up her home for several parolees, providing them with assistance and spiritual guidance getting their lives back on track. She authored a book of Christian poetry a few years ago and even with failing health was still active with her church and in-home Bible study groups. She is survived by her husband, Bill in Tx.; two daughters, Debbie and Karen in Tx.; and her son, Mark Hinson, who is the current Manager at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. She was a talented, devoted lady who will be missed greatly by her family and many friends! Tim Smith and Nancy Massingille, Gwinnett Cemeteries, LLC
